Are you a V.I.P?

For the sake of illustration, let’s imagine that it’s a beautiful day and you’re feeling adventurous, so you decide to go “off-grid” on a nice hike. Before long, you realize that you are now lost in the woods without your trusty iPhone or Samsung (we can tussle in the comments about which is better😆). You know where you want to go but have no idea how to get there. You probably don’t even know your current location, making your journey to your destination that much more difficult…

…now imagine that you meet a kind stranger while you are wandering alone in the woods. You’re relieved to know that they can at least tell you where you are, so you ask, “how do I get to my destination?” Your guardian angel pulls out a map (I know…who has a map in 2024?...it’s an illustrative example people!) and points out your current location and says “OK, here’s where we are right now and here’s where you want to get to. You’re going to start off heading north for 4 miles until you get to this milestone, then head east for 2 miles and you’ll see this landmark, and so on…until you arrive at your destination in around 12 hours. Here’s my compass to make sure you stay on the right track…”

I know this is a cheesy example, but this is exactly what it’s like working with an experienced business strategist.
